Rolling Archeology

I am a model railroader and also a railfan. I've chased trains and taken photos of locomotives and rolling stock in West Virginia and surrounding states, although I've always gotten more satisfaction from building models and operating model railroads. Lately, I've been interested in railroads of the 1920's; from locomotives and rolling stock to the infrastructure and jobs people held to make the railroad run. Since 2002, I've had opportunities to travel for my job and I've found some interesting freight cars along the way. I've collected recent digital images of rare freight cars with slides and prints of other favorite rail subjects for this suite of web pages. This site is intended as a reference to assist in modeling efforts and to document the surviving relics of the rails that I've found along the way.

Feel free to send along any suggestions for other relics, as my travels may enable a visit.
